PURE JUICE OF NONI OR “COCKTAIL”? – HOW TO KNOW ?
NONI’s PUR JUUS , like all natural juices, has a particularly strong smell and flavor that dissipates quickly after being “put in the mouth”, leaving no unpleasant aftertaste. Its color must be of a beautiful light brown, of a limpid appearance and transparent to the light, its fluid consistency like water. The first contact with the particular taste of NONI juice is often surprising, but the juice should not be “undrinkable”.
Conversely, dark or thick NONI juice means that it is mixed with other ingredients, often useless, or has been subcontracted several times. This juice is usually very bitter and “flat” from an energy point of view. It is so “bad” that it often requires a mouth rinse. It is therefore not surprising that these NONI products are highly diluted in very sweet “cover” flavors, which is in complete contradiction with the nature and integrity of the juice.
AUTHENTIC NONI JUICE – FACTS OR FICTION?
Contrary to some popular theories created for their commercial impact, prolonged fermentation of NONI juice is not a traditional process. This is a production stage that has unfortunately developed following the intense international marketing of the product, since the last 20 years. The majority of NONI juices are fermented by necessity and not by tradition.
The prolonged fermentation of NONI juice has a negative impact on its quality which is very severely compromised. Indeed, during a long fermentation, a very intense oxidation of the juice takes place (hence its dark color) and an abundance of bacteria and germs, dangerous to consumption if they are not eliminated completely, develop. Perfect pasteurization is therefore essential.
PASTEURIZATION – CONSERVATION or COOKING?
Pasteurization of NONI juice is a crucial step. All NONI juices must be pasteurized to stop the fermentation of the juice but mainly to eliminate ALL dangerous bacteria and make the juice clean and safe for consumption.
There are two methods of pasteurization: the so-called “cooking” method which is the most used and “flash pasteurization”. The method of “cooking” is a long process by which the NONI juice is literally “cooked” (about 95 ° C) for 1 hour or more, destroying most of its nutrients (vitamins, minerals and enzymes) and undergoes significant oxidation. During cooling the juice continues to “cook”. It is therefore energetically “flat” ie without great efficiency.
Conversely, “flash pasteurization” is the most modern method and the most appropriate solution. It requires a specialized machine that raises the juice to a temperature of 85 ° C or more but for a duration of 3 seconds. This modern method allows the complete destruction of all dangerous or harmful bacteria. However, rapid cooling ensues to safeguard the precious nutrients of the juice. The integrity of the juice and its effectiveness are therefore respected.

Our grandmothers often liked to repeat that “anything bad is good for the body”. A very good example of this popular wisdom is cod liver oil, which has protected an entire generation against nutritional deficiencies due to an insufficiently rich and varied diet during the post-war period.

HOW TO USE NONI JUICE
To be completely effective, the NONI juice should be drunk preferably 100% PUR, without addition.
Like most medicinal herbs or herbal drinks, NONI juice is naturally bitter. It is no exception. Its taste and its particular smell can be considerably attenuated at refrigerated temperature which does not alter any of its properties.
The daily dose recommended by AFFSA is 30 ml per day.
If you want to flavor your NONI juice occasionally, we suggest the addition of an aroma or other unsweetened fruit juice. Pineapple juice is particularly recommended because it has many qualities similar to those of NONI juice.
